Mission & Goals
Live DMA is a European non-governmental network working to support and to promote the conditions of the live music sector. Live DMA is by nature an international collaboration network based on shared visions and values. Ever since its foundation, exchange of best practices and experiences have been the pivot of the network’s existence. Live DMA's action plan relies on three main goals: - influence the political agenda for the live music sector in Europe. - empower live music actors with tools, knowledge and resources. - connect national associations to structure the European live music sector.
EU Legislative Interests
Live DMA tool part in the dialogue with the European Commission about Creative Europe programme and the development of Music Moves Europe, such as the AB working group and the MME preparatory actions. During the negociation phase of the The Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2021-2027, Live DMA was strongly committed to advocate in favor of an increase of the budgets for culture to enhance the accessibility of live music actors to grants and cooperation projects. Live DMA advocated to earmark at the very least 2% of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) towards the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs). Live DMA has joined the Pact of Skills on CCIs, taking part in the working group on green skills for the creative and cultural sectors. Participation to the dialogue for the Cultural Compass. Communication Activities
Member of the advisory board of the feasibility study for the establishment of a European Music Observatory, and a gap analysis of funding needs for the music sector. Live DMA participate and share some campaigns about the place of Culture in the MFF : Culture Action Europe’s Double for Culture campaign; Uphold Culture in EU budget ; 45 European artistic figures sign A Call to Invest in All Our Creative Futures ; Investing in Europe’s Next Generation by investing in culture; 78 EU Cultural organisations sign the call Europe’s cultural and creative sectors call for ambitious EU budgetary measures to get through the COVID-19 crisis In autumn 2020, Live DMA together with 110 cultural networks and associations has urged the Member States to make sure that at the very least 2% of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) will be allocated to the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs). In 2022, participation to the joint letter “RELAUNCH THE MUSIC MOVES EUROPE PROGRAMME” written by Live music and cultural networks and addressed to Commissioner Mariya Gabriel. In February 2024, Live DMA presented the state of the challenges faced by the live music sector during the Music Moves Europe Structured Dialogue Meeting in the European Commission premises. In March 2025, Live DMA presented its recommendations for the live music sector in the frame of the consultation for the Cultural Compass in the European Commission premises. In 2025, Live DMA call on the European Commission to prohibit dynamic pricing in the live entertainment sector within the Digital Fairness Act. Joinded Letter adressed to the EU Commission with Euroconsumers, Reset! network and Football Supporters Europe. In 2025, Live DMA and other EU organisations call for a comprehensive policy strategy and an ambitious budget for Europe’s music sector within AgoraEU.
