Mission & Goals
The Lithuanian National Radio and Television (hereinafter referred to as LRT) is an independent public establishment whose sole owner is the State. LRT’s mission is to inform, educate and mobilise the public. LRT mission, governance and funding are regulated by the special Law on the Lithuanian National Radio and Television. LRT collects and publishes information about Lithuania and the world, introduces the public to the cultural diversity of Europe and the world, the foundations of modern civilisation, consolidates the independence and democracy of the Republic of Lithuania, foster and protects the values of national culture, develops tolerance and humanism, the culture of cooperation, thinking and language, enhances public morality and civic responsibility, and rises the country’s ecological awareness.
