Mission & Goals

The Lithuanian Countryside Tourism Association (LKTA) is a national non-profit organization representing countryside tourism and agritourism service providers across Lithuania. The association works to strengthen sustainable countryside tourism, support small and family-owned tourism businesses, promote regional development, preserve local traditions and cultural heritage, and encourage cooperation between tourism, agriculture, local communities, and public institutions. LKTA actively contributes to the development of experiential, nature-based and community-driven tourism in Lithuania and participates in national and international initiatives related to sustainable tourism, rural development, digitalisation, innovation, and regional resilience.

Sustainable tourism policy, rural development, SMEs competitiveness, regional development, cultural and experiential tourism, digitalisation and innovation in tourism, community-led local development, smart destinations, agro-tourism, and policies related to sustainable and resilient tourism ecosystems within the European Union.

Communication Activities

The Lithuanian Countryside Tourism Association (LKTA) participates in national and international conferences, workshops, consultations, networking events, and projects related to sustainable tourism, rural development, cultural tourism, regional resilience, and SMEs in the tourism ecosystem. The association communicates and promotes EU-related tourism priorities through its website, social media channels, public discussions, member communication, tourism campaigns, professional events, and cooperation with local communities, tourism stakeholders, public institutions, and international partners. LKTA also contributes to discussions on sustainable and experience-based tourism, digitalisation, innovation, smart tourism solutions, and the development of rural tourism destinations in Lithuania and Europe. The association supports knowledge exchange, stakeholder engagement, and awareness raising activities related to community-driven tourism, agro-tourism, local heritage, and sustainable regional development.
