Mission & Goals
Nata nel 1957, l'Associazione Nazionale delle Cooperative Agroitticoalimentari aderenti alla Legacoop promuove, rappresenta, assiste, tutela e coordina le cooperative associate, per favorirne lo sviluppo in moderne ed efficienti imprese (Statuto, art.2). Al 2024 Legacoop Agroalimentare associa 1.396 cooperative attive, con 202.517 soci aderenti, 28.811 addetti e un fatturato pari a 11.767.284.304,42 euro. Queste imprese operano in tutti i settori e in tutte le fasi produttive dell'agroalimentare, della pesca e dell'acquacoltura con una presenza diffusa su tutto il territorio nazionale. Legacoop Agroalimentare e' associata ad Halieus, ONG di cooperazione internazionale allo sviluppo.

The organisation carries out communication and advocacy activities related to EU policies, including: – organisation and participation in institutional events, conferences and public debates on EU agricultural, fisheries and food policies; – preparation and dissemination of position papers and technical contributions on CAP, fisheries policy, sustainability, trade and energy transition; – participation in public hearings and stakeholder consultations organised by EU institutions (including hearings on marine pollution and decarbonisation of fisheries and aquaculture); – communication activities such as press releases, publications and public interventions addressing EU policy developments; – participation in international events and initiatives relevant to EU policies, including agri-food promotion and cooperation initiatives.
