Mission & Goals
Leather Working Group (LWG) is a global, not-for-profit, multi-stakeholder community. Since 2005, LWG has identified environmental best practices in the industry and provided guidelines for continual improvement. LWG is responsible for the world's leading environmental certification for the leather manufacturing industry. Our footprint is currently estimated to represents more than one third of global finished leather. This diverse community is unique, as it unites all sectors of the leather industry – from leather manufacturers to chemical & machinery suppliers to brands - representing all actors in the supply chain.
