Mission & Goals
Landbrug & Fødevarer – the Danish Agriculture and Food Council – is a private organization representing Danish farmers, producers and their cooperatives. The membership of Landbrug & Fødevarer consist of local farmers' unions, industry organizations within the food sector, larger cooperative food companies and other related companies. The objective of Landbrug & Fødevarer is to: - represent and promote the interests of the farming and food industry, nationally and internationally - strengthen the competitiveness of the sector - build public understanding of the importance of the sector The DAFC's representative office in Brussels is involved in activities related to the objectives of the organization: - following and influencing EU-policies and legislation - establishing contacts within the European Commission and the EP and other institutions - building networks with other relevant organisations - solving concrete commercial problems - strengthening market access
EU Legislative Interests
Landbrug & Fødevarer's lobbying is directed at: • Common Agricultural Policy implementation and evaluation, including through establishment of National Strategic Plans, Common Market Organisation, management of the crisis reserve, promotion policy; • Climate Policy implementation, including through Fit for 55 implementation by means of Effort Sharing Regulation, ETS, LULUCF regulation, Renewable Energy Directive, CBAM, and Green Deal implantation such as Sustainable Use of Pesticides regulation, and Nature Restauration targets; • Trade Policy, including through negotiation and implementation of Free Trade Agreements, i.e. Mercosur, EU-Japan, EU-Canada, EU-Australia, EU-New Zealand, EU-US agreements. Moreover, Landbrug & Fødevarer supports the EU’s internal market and rules based multilateralism; we promote sustainable intensification of agricultural production and engage in public debates on sustainable food systems, food security and global aspects of agriculture, including supply chains and international development and cooperation.

Organisation Members
Landbrug & Fødevarer is a business organisation for the entire food cluster, i.e. agriculture, the food industry and the agricultural and food-related industries. The local farmers' associations, joint associations and family agricultural associations represent approximatively 30,000 members nationwide. Landbrug & Fødevarer also counts about 300 company members. We are the only business organisation whose members represent the entire value chain, from farm to fork. Additional Information
The estimate of cost is based on the costs of operating the representative office in Brussels. This office fulfills a number of tasks other than direct lobbying, including gathering of information, making analysis and reports, participating in European organizations and networks. The cost of direct lobbying activity is estimated to be a third of the total costs of the representative office.
