Mission & Goals
Laflora Ltd (SIA Laflora) is a Latvian peat extraction and processing company, focused on responsible peatland management, peat product manufacturing, land recultivation and related sustainability activities. The company’s aim is to represent its interests in relation to EU policies and legislation affecting peat extraction, horticultural substrates, land management, environmental protection, climate policy, biodiversity, circular economy and sustainable use of natural resources. Laflora seeks to contribute technical expertise and practical experience to EU-level discussions, consultations and stakeholder dialogues relevant to its activities. EU legislation and policy initiatives related to peatland management, horticultural substrates, environmental impact assessment, biodiversity protection, climate change mitigation and adaptation, land recultivation, circular economy, sustainable agriculture, and related delegated and implementing acts.Monitoring of EU policy developments.
EU Legislative Interests
EU legislation and policy initiatives related to environmental protection, climate action and sustainable land use, including in particular policies affecting peatland management, horticultural substrates, biodiversity conservation, circular economy and sustainable agriculture. This includes monitoring and contributing to discussions on the implementation and review of the European Green Deal, climate and biodiversity strategies, and relevant regulatory and non-legislative initiatives. In particular: European Green Deal and related initiatives EU Climate Law and climate mitigation/adaptation policies EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 Circular Economy Action Plan Policies affecting horticultural substrates, land restoration and sustainable use of natural resources

They may include publication of factual information on the company’s website, sustainability and environmental reporting, responses to public consultations, and participation in stakeholder meetings, workshops or events organised by EU institutions or relevant sector associations.
