Mission & Goals
ASSEDEL’s main goal is to work closely with EU institutions such as the European Parliament and the Council of Europe in order to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms. Our organisation considers the organisation of side events, interviews, and the drafting of reports and contributions on these topics to be the most effective tools to achieve this objective. In this context, the organisation focuses on and extends its work to several key issues, including women’s empowerment, the right to education for refugee children, the revision of treaties, and the protection of personal privacy. At the same ASSEDEL looks ahead by, on the one hand, continuing to raise awareness among current Member States about the importance of maintaining strong legislative and policy-based tools to protect these rights and, on the other, working to ensure respect for human rights in candidate countries for EU membership.
