Mission & Goals
Our organisation is an NGO dedicated to defending minority rights in Iran, with a particular focus on the Kurdish Society. Our core goal is to raise international awareness about the systematic violations of Kurdish human rights, cultural suppression, discrimination, and violent repression faced by Kurds in Iran, and to advocate for their fundamental rights and freedoms.
EU Legislative Interests
Our organisation is an NGO dedicated to defending minority rights in Iran, with a particular focus on the Kurdish community. Our organisation's interest representation activities directed at the EU institutions target the following specific EU policies, resolutions, and initiatives related to human rights in Iran, with a particular emphasis on violations affecting ethnic minorities such as Kurds: European Parliament resolution of 23 January 2025 on the systematic repression of human rights in Iran, notably the cases of Pakhshan Azizi and Wrisha Moradi, and the taking of EU citizens as hostages (2025/2511(RSP) including calls for the release of Kurdish activists and political prisoners, condemnation of executions and persecution of minorities. European Parliament resolution of 19 January 2023 on the EU response to the protests and executions in Iran (2023/2511(RSP) addressing the repression following the death of Jina Mahsa Amini, executions, and violations in Kurdish regions. European Parliament resolution of 6 October 2022 on the death of Mahsa Jina Amini and the repression of women’s rights protesters in Iran (2022/2849(RSP) focusing on the protests sparked in Kurdish areas and broader human rights crackdowns. EU restrictive measures (sanctions) under the EU human rights sanctions regime against Iran (Council Decision (CFSP) 2020/1999 and subsequent updates/amendments in 2023–2025) advocating for inclusion/extension to individuals and entities responsible for violations against ethnic minorities, including disproportionate executions and repression of Kurds. Ongoing EU-Iran human rights dialogue and EU positions in the UN Human Rights Council, including support for the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on the Islamic Republic of Iran and the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran — with emphasis on ethnic discrimination, minority rights, and accountability for violations in Kurdish-populated regions. Implementation of the EU Annual Report on Human Rights and Democracy in the World (latest editions covering Iran) targeted advocacy for stronger references to ethnic minorities, including Kurds, in sections on discrimination, executions, and repression. These are the concrete EU files and processes where we have directed (or intend to direct) our advocacy efforts, such as through position papers, meetings with MEPs, inputs to consultations, or calls for resolutions/sanctions.
