Mission & Goals
The Cultural and Creative Federation is a bottom-up umbrella organization established to strengthen the role of culture, arts, and creativity in the Czech Republic. Its main objectives are to advocate for better working conditions in the cultural sector, support the balanced development of culture across regions, promote the cross-sectoral role of culture, and contribute to data-informed cultural policy. The Federation brings together associations and individual professionals and serves as a common voice for the sector in policy dialogue. It also aims to shape strategic legislation and to act as a key expert partner for public authorities, especially the Ministry of Culture.
EU Legislative Interests
The Cultural and Creative Federation monitors and engages with EU legislation and policy initiatives related to culture, the creative industries, social and employment conditions in the cultural sector, regional development, and EU funding instruments (such as Creative Europe and cohesion policy). The Federation represents its interests by: - Participating in public consultations and policy dialogues at both national and EU levels; - Engaging with EU programs and advocacy campaigns to promote better working conditions for cultural professionals; - Contributing to expert discussions related to the role of culture in regional development and cross-sector collaboration; - Cooperating with European networks and stakeholders to influence policy debates and share best practices; - Monitoring the implementation of EU cultural policy in the Czech context and advocating for alignment with EU standards and priorities. The Federation seeks to contribute to and influence the future development and implementation of EU policies and programmes relevant to the cultural and creative sectors, including: - Creative Europe Programme (2021–2027 and its successor) – particularly in regard to funding accessibility, cross-sector collaboration, and fair working conditions for cultural professionals. - EU Work Plan for Culture 2023–2026 – notably its priority on improving the status and working conditions of artists and professionals in culture. - European Pillar of Social Rights – especially Principles 5 and 8 concerning secure employment and social dialogue in the cultural and creative economy. - EU Territorial Agenda 2030 – in promoting culture-led regional development and equitable access to cultural infrastructure. - Council conclusions on the role of culture in the European Green Deal (2021/C 501/06) – as part of promoting environmentally sustainable practices in cultural production and policy. The Federation monitors these frameworks, shares expertise, and intends to participate in public consultations, policy dialogues, and stakeholder platforms related to the above areas.
