Mission & Goals
Motivation for interest representation: Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) engages in interest representation activities in relation to its business operations in the nuclear energy sector. The company’s objective is to promote fair and transparent cooperation with European institutions and stakeholders in areas such as nuclear safety, sustainable energy transition, and industrial collaboration. These activities are conducted in KHNP’s own commercial and institutional interest, and not on behalf of third-party clients. The purpose is to contribute to mutual understanding and information exchange between the European Union and the Republic of Korea in the field of energy and climate policy.
EU Legislative Interests
Foreign Subsidies Regulation (EU) 2022/2560 - Regulations on foreign subsidies distorting the internal market. The activities are related to the implementation and interpretation of the Regulation, particularly in connection with the assessment concerning the Dukovany II Nuclear Power Plant tender in the Czech Republic.
Communication Activities
KHNP has engaged in professional and transparent communication with the European Commission in relation to the implementation of the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (EU) 2022/2560, particularly in the context of the Dukovany II Nuclear Power Plant tender procedure. The activities have included: - technical and factual clarification meetings with the Commission (DG GROW) - submission of written information and responses to RFI from DG GROW These activities were limited to regulatory and procedural clarification.

Member Of
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) is a member of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and the World Nuclear Association (WNA). KHNP also cooperates with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as a member state entity through the Government of the Republic of Korea. KHNP participates in various international nuclear safety and technical initiatives, but it does not hold any membership in EU-based lobbying or trade associations.

There are no costs for activities covered by the Register. As KHNP does not carry out activities covered by the Register, it should not be declared annual costs related to such activities. However, based on the guidance, KHNP considers all costs related to travel, accommodations, and other expenses incurred in relation to meetings to be included.
