Mission & Goals

KONTEXT is an independent think tank dedicated to evidence-based climate policy. We enable clarity on climate-related issues and empower policy-relevant stakeholders to take and promote responsible decisions. We analyze the complex interconnections of climate, the economy and society to develop clear, actionable solutions for decision-makers. The long-term impact of KONTEXT is visible in the narratives and positions in politically relevant institutions. We develop strategies and activities to overcome the current polarization and contribute to a broad consensus in Austrian and European politics for ambitious climate decision-making. This creates socio-political pressure for change. It is no longer short-term benefits that are rewarded, but political foresight. This will support Austria and Europe in achieving its goal of climate neutrality.
