Mission & Goals
Kobaloni Energy will be the third-largest cobalt sulphate producer in the world, representing approximately 5% of global production of battery-grade cobalt sulphate. The refinery will produce 6,000 tons per annum of refined cobalt sulphate from a fully traceable African sources outside the Chinese supply chain. Kobaloni Energy is developing the first cobalt sulphate refinery in Africa in Zambia, strategically located near the DRC border where cobalt raw materials will be sourced from 100% fully traceable, ethical sources with offtake already agreed with a Tier 1 counterparty. Currently, 21 of the world's 23 cobalt sulphate refineries are in China, creating significant concentration risk. Kobaloni will provide Western customers with cobalt that is fully decoupled from China and will be fully Western owned, operated, and sourced. The aim of the project is to supply enough cobalt sulphate to Europe, via the p[ort of Rotterdam to produce 1,000,000 ev batteries per year.
