Mission & Goals
The Knowledge Center on Organic Rankine Cycle technology (KCORC) promotes the interdisciplinary knowledge exchange between academia, industry, governmental agencies and policy makers. The aim is to advance the research, development and implementation of ORC technology by means of providing relevant technical and scientific information, organizing technical conferences and workshops, fostering engineering education, and advising on proper regulation.
EU Legislative Interests
Our activities with respect to contributions to EU initiatives, policies, legislation and, connected to these, R&D funding are just starting. We would like to contribute to Roadmaps, Directives, Regulations, Decisions, European Parliament reports or resolutions if related to the reduction of CO2 emissions as far as thermal energy harvesting (or waste heat recovery) is concerned. We might also possibly take part in European Commission Expert Groups. More specifically, from a legislative standpoint, KCORC targets the Energy Efficiency Directive, Renewable Energy Directive, and Taxonomy.
Communication Activities
Event: International Seminar on Organic Rankine Cycle power systems held biennially. This event includes keynote presentations on the EU policies above as well as technical and economic presentations of power systems contributing to the energy transition according to said EU policies.
