Additionally, Knauf is dedicated to creating stable employment opportunities, supporting local communities through education and training.

EU Legislative Interests

The purpose of registration in the EU Transparency Register is to enable the participation in the Call for Expressions of Interest by EU/EEA/Western Balkans companies to invest in the Western Balkans region, and particularly to assist green energy investment projects in North Macedonia. The purpose of registration in the EU Transparency Register is to support Knauf's ongoing commitment to sustainable industrial development and alignment with key EU climate and environmental objectives. The company’s latest investment (production plant with a new modern production line) in North Macedonia is focused on significant CO₂ reduction, optimization of production processes, enhanced workplace safety, and the creation of a healthier working environment. These priorities directly support the objectives of the European Green Deal, the Fit for 55 package, and broader EU strategies for decarbonisation, circular economy, and energy efficiency. By implementing advanced technologies that reduce emissions and improve energy performance, Knauf is actively contributing to the EU’s 2030 climate targets. Additionally, the investment strengthens the industrial integration of the Western Balkans into the EU's sustainable development framework and supports the transition toward a low-carbon economy in the region. Organisation is completely aligned with key EU legislative proposals and strategic policy platforms. The company's idea is to reduce CO₂ emissions by 30% by 2030 and reach a level that is more than acceptable in the European Union.
