Kanadevia Inova is a Swiss-rooted global Genentech company, established in 1933 as L. von Roll Aktiengesellschaft. We are implanted all over Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Slovakia, Denmark, Poland, Nederland, Istanbul), UK , North America, Australia, Abu Dhabi and Dubai . Since 2010, it's been part of Japan's Kanadevia Corporation. The company leverages nearly 90 years of experience in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) to deliver complex turnkey plants and solutions across Europe for Waste-to-Energy (WtE) recovery, gas upgrading, and power-to-gas systems. They specialize in both thermal and biological WtE processes. EU Legislative Interests
Kanadevia Inova welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the European Commission's consultation on the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), particularly regarding the potential inclusion of Waste-to-Energy (WtE) and landfill infrastructure. Based on our engagement with the Commission and relevant research, we firmly believe the ETS, in its current form, is not an appropriate mechanism for decarbonizing the waste sector. Its application risks incentivizing a counterproductive shift from WtE to landfilling—an outcome that directly contradicts the waste hierarchy and undermines both climate and broader environmental objectives. Furthermore, Kanadevia Inova is keenly interested in collaborating more generally with the European Commission on regulations that enable greater sustainability within waste management. This includes key legislative instruments such as the Taxonomy Regulation, the Landfill BREF, the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED), the Waste Framework Directive, and the Landfill Directive, among others.
