Mission & Goals
Goethe University Frankfurt is one of the largest universities in Germany with ~41,000 students. The University hosts 16 faculties covering natural and life sciences as well as the humanities and socio-economic sciences. The University is committed to providing excellent conditions for academic teaching and research, as well as facilitating and supporting the continuous dialogue with society. Embedded in a metropolitan area of considerable economic strength, with a sizeable international population and a cosmopolitan spirit, the University covers a wide range of subjects. In terms of international academic competition, Goethe University has emerged as a prominent and enticing destination for outstanding researchers and students alike.
EU Legislative Interests
Goethe University is mostly active as a participant in the European Union's research and innovation programmes. Therefore the University is interested in all discussions and future developments regarding European policies in this field, for example the university regularly takes part in public consultations on the European Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation. There is no permanent staff located at the Brussels office.
Communication Activities
Goethe University is represented in Brussels by it's office located in the representation of the State of Hesse in Brussels. The office can be used by it's researchers. Additionally the university regularly participates in and hosts events in Brussels.
