Mission & Goals
The Japanese Bankers Association (JBA) is the leading trade association for banks, bank holding companies and bankers associations in Japan. Several of its largest member banks are active participants in the EU financial markets.Our goal is to contribute to the growth of the economy and the prosperity of people's lives by supporting banking businesses in order to promote the sound development of banking industry in Japan.
EU Legislative Interests
Directive (EU) 2024/1619 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 May 2024 amending Directive 2013/36/EU as regards supervisory powers, sanctions, third-country branches, and environmental, social and governance risks (CRD6) Especially, we target Articles regarding third country branch regulations, such as Article21c, 47 and 48.
Communication Activities
We submit comment letters to public consultation papers and publish them on our website.
