Mission & Goals
To encourage the formation of policy at national, EU and international levels conducive to the development of enterprise culture and favourable to the creation of economic, social and employment conditions suitable for the profitable growth and competitiveness of Irish business and employers and the development of productive employment. To encourage, promote, co–ordinate, participate and assist in the education of owner, manager of SMEs in Ireland on the conduct of small business. To encourage promote co–ordinate participate and assist in the education and the development of good business practice with the object of establishing, supporting and assisting small business in Ireland. To communicate and promote the objects of the ISME Association on issues affecting or likely to affect their interests, including industrial relations, labour and social affairs, sectoral, regional and other policy issues to the Government or to any other appropriate bodies
EU Legislative Interests
ISME objectives include the protection and advancement of the interests of Irish SMEs at all levels within the EU Institutions. We engage directly or indirectly (via SMEUnited) with the EU institutions on issues of relevance to small and medium enterprise in in Ireland, including: Economic affairs; financial affairs; social chapter, social partnership and employment affairs, energy, environment, climate, infrastructure and transport; legal affairs e.g. CSDDD, insolvency and second chance; the single market; trade policy e.g. CETA, MERCOSUR.
