EU Legislative Interests
The main focus of IPHA activities is targeted at European and Irish pharmaceutical legislation and policies. The main focus of our current activities in relation to European legislation and policy is the revision of the General Pharmaceutical Legislation, the Orphan Medicines Regulation and Regulation of Medicinal Products for Paediatric use, the proposed Critical Medicines Act and Biotech Act. We also work to see a re-evaluation of the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive and focus on its transposition into domestic Irish Legislation and operation of Extender Producer Responsibility for our industry. We are keenly interested in competitiveness and health policies of the Union and as proposed and developed by the Commission.
