Mission & Goals
The Irish Agroforestry Forum (IAF) is a multi-stakeholder non-profit organisation established in 2021 to promote the integration of trees into agricultural systems across the island of Ireland. Operating on an "all-island" basis, it serves as a collaborative bridge between farmers, researchers, and policymakers. The forum advocates for diverse land-use practices—such as silvopasture, silvoarable, and riparian buffers—that combine productive farming with environmental stewardship. By providing a platform for knowledge exchange and research, the IAF aims to demonstrate that trees are not a competitor to traditional farming, but rather a multifunctional tool that can enhance animal welfare, soil health, and overall farm profitability. Nationally and at EU , the IAF focuses on promoting agroforestry and advocating for best supportive policy and education.
