Mission & Goals
• To further the study and knowledge of VAT law and practice amongst VAT experts and professionals, in business, in tax and law firms, government administrators, experts, academics and students as well amongst VAT compliance specialists and notably VAT reclaim agents or intermediaries, as it applies to VAT reclaims; • to provide a forum for the above categories of members to discuss aspects of VAT law and practice; • to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information on VAT matters between members on a confidential basis; • to help fiscal authorities in their fight against fraud in the field of VAT and other indirect taxes; • to establish closer links between members and the relevant governmental authorities with a view to promoting a better understanding by each of the work of the other; • to make representations to governmental authorities, paying agencies or the Commission of the EU, or other appropriate person or body, on the operation of VAT law and practice and (...)
EU Legislative Interests
All initiatives, policies and legislative in the fields of VAT, Customs and other indirect taxes, including enviromental taxes and CBAM. All Council Directives, Council Implementing Regulations, Council Implementing Decisions and Guidelines relating to VAT, Customs and other indirect taxes.
Communication Activities
The IVA organises bi-annual conferences for its members see https://www.vatassociation.org/conferences/. The IVA produces at least two newsletters per month on updates on VAT information globally and technical updates on legislation for its members. The IVA provides access to its members to country/subject matter expertise.
