Mission & Goals
UND is a leading professional association in Türkiye, established in 1974 by representatives from the Turkish international road freight transport sector to solve problems experienced by sector at national and international levels and today we represent the interests of over 6.000 international freight transport and logistics companies established in Türkiye. Our keen interest is in the “improvement of the Türkiye-EU trade and transport relations”, while contributing to the removal of artifical, non-tariff barriers to trade and transport between the two sides to ensure much better functioning of the Customs Union to pave the way for increased mutual gains.

Communication Activities
Working in close contact and cooperation with related ministries and other public authorities in Türkiye as well as in Europe and the world; UND is an active member of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and FIATA, being the founder of another important regional organisation BSEC-URTA (Union of Road Transport Associations in the Black Sea Region), and the Union of the Road Transport Associations in the Turkic Region (OTS-URTA), under the Presidency of the UND, and has been engaged in partnerships with several organisations or institutions in the EU via certain EU-funded projects. UND organizes events, meetings in Brussels in partnership with representative institutions of Türkiye-EU relations and other Brussels-based organisations that pursue the gola of improving trade and transport connectivity between Türkiye and the EU (member states), with main focus on the Global Gateway initiative and within that framework, on the improvement of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor (the Middle Corridor). Last year, UND organised a roundtable event “Achieving Full Potential of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor” hosted by TUSIAD EU Representation in Brussels on 15 May 2024, where a distinguished audience was brought together with various representatives from the EU Commission, EU delegates of the Corridor countries from Central Asia and EU as well as other stakeholders of Europe-Asia trade and transport connectivity to discuss about the role of the Corridor for the region’s integration with the global value chains and the EU’s economic resilience, in line with the objectives pursued by the Global Gateway strategy. UND also attended on 20 November 2024, the ENC -IKV joint event on "the supply chains and transport corridors towards greater connectivity" with a presentation on Türkiye-EU transport relations within the framework of international transport corridors of common interest (of EU-Central Asia trade and transport connectivity).
