Mission & Goals
ISFED is an independent, membership-based non-governmental organization based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Since its establishment in 1995, the organization has carried out the mission of supporting democracy in Georgia and beyond by ensuring transparency of elections, government oversight, and citizen engagement in the decision-making processes. With its primary focus on elections and electoral processes, ISFED has been recognized as the most reputable and experienced election monitoring organization in the country; ISFED’s other strategic areas of work include supporting democratic reforms and Georgia’s European integration; increasing transparency and accountability of local governments; promoting democratic values and civic education, monitoring the use of social media in electoral and political processes, and providing legal aid to politically dismissed people from a workspace.
