Mission & Goals

- promote the reputation, utilization and dissemination of hydroxy analogue of methionine (2-hydroxy-4-methylthio-butanoic acid, “HMTBa”) in agricultural, industrial, human and other applications; - represent, defend and promote the interests of the HTMBa sector to the general public and to the institutions of jurisdictions where this product is used including those of the European Union; - lobby for workable local legislative frameworks, their implementation and for non-binding codes of conducts applicable to HTMBa; - develop for HMTBa, professional rules and best manufacturing and labeling practices, together with other associations, stakeholders and institutions of jurisdictions where this product is used; - organize events and seminars and publish materials on the efficient use and regulation of HTMBa; and - encourage and finance scientific research on HTMBa, including but not limited to its metabolism and functionality in livestock production, seeking to enhance the H (...)

EU Legislative Interests

IMAA is active in the following areas of activity: Regulation (EC) No 767/2009, Directive 2008/38/EC, Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003, Regulation (EC) No 429/2008, all the corresponding EFSA guidance, all the work done by european reference laboratory in terms of harmonized feed additives methods of analysis and expertises.
