Mission & Goals
INL, the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, is the first, and so far the only, fully international research organization in Europe in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. INL is the result of a joint decision of the Governments of Portugal and Spain, taken on November 19, 2005, and has been operating since 2011. One aspect that stands out at INL is its infrastructure, which provides a high-tech research environment equipped with the latest technologies. INL is an international intergovernmental research organization (IGRO) with the mission to perform cutting-edge research and development in interdisciplinary nanotechnology and to function as an innovation integrator in multiple application domains. INL was created with the aim to become a global center of excellence in applied nanotechnology research.
