Mission & Goals
The International Hydropower Association (IHA) is the global voice of sustainable hydropower. It is a non-profit membership organisation representing well over 100 members from every continent in the world. Its mission is to advance sustainable hydropower by building and sharing knowledge on its role in secure and reliable energy systems, responsible water management and climate change solutions. IHA seeks to deliver on this through advocacy, research and policy initiatives and championing sustainable good practices. IHA represents organisations committed to the responsible and sustainable development and operation of hydropower. Operating in over 120 countries, IHA's members include leading hydropower owners and operators, developers, designers, suppliers and consultants. IHA supports its members in Europe through the work conducted by the European Policy Taskforce, which is a group dedicated to its European members to enable policy dialogue and cooperation.
