Mission & Goals

IMRUA is an international non-profit aimed at promoting the use of motorcycles for emergency medical, fire and rescue work. Our goal is to aid with motorcycle safety regulation, medical and emergency response issues at a policy level, and aid in making medical care for accident victims faster, more efficient and more patient oriented around Europe. We are the worlds largest organization of professional motorcyclists and we use our 100% voluntary association utilize our expertise in motorcycles, motorcycle safety, emergency medical care and fire and rescue.

EU Legislative Interests

Our global pool of experts in the field of motorcycle safety, motorcycle emergency response, emergency medicine, fire and rescue and international medical care would like to lend its expertise with important issues like road safety regulation, medical care and treatment and access to medical information for victims of traumatic injury and organizational matters pertaining to Europe-wide emergency and disaster response. We would like to help propose a pan-EU standard for motorcycle mechanical inspections, safety equipment for motorcycles, clothing standards and rider training to help improve the outcome for many motorcycle accident victims. Our goal is also to help provide some real world feedback from medical professionals treating foreign nationals who are victims of injury, accident or medical issues while traveling or away from their local providers. Our expert panel would also like to help improve access to emergency medical care around European internal (and external) borders where sadly critical emergency care is often delayed due to political issues such as borders and dispatch across international borders as well as a faster, more efficient disaster response to large natural or man-made disasters so it doesn't have to be slowed by bureaucracy and inefficiency.

Communication Activities

We hold an annual congress (e-congress and hybrid congress) to help advance rescuers professional capabilities and discuss current issues. The Congress' are free and open to all who decide to attend, either in person or virtually.
