Mission & Goals
WorldFish is a leading international research organization working to transform aquatic food systems to reduce hunger, malnutrition, and poverty. It collaborates with international, regional, and national partners to co-develop and deliver scientific innovations, evidence for policy, and knowledge to enable equitable and inclusive impact for millions who depend on fish for their livelihoods. A member of CGIAR, WorldFish contributes to building a food- and nutrition-secure future and restoring natural resources. WorldFish is headquartered in Penang, Malaysia, with country offices and programs across Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. WorldFish’s research and innovation in aquatic food systems promotes sustainable development and food systems transformation for healthy and resilient diets. WorldFish is interested to participate in EU-led events that align with food and nutrition security, oceans and climate change to share its insights and scientific evidence to inform investments and policy-making and to steer global and European agenda. Similarly, WorldFish uses digital channels like social media and its website to disseminate its research findings and impact, including from projects and research funded by EU, to inform EU decision-making, among other targeted donors and governments around the world
