Mission & Goals
The mission of STM is to advance trusted research by creating a platform for members to work collaboratively, in respect of competition law. We represent the interest of the STM publishing community in the fields of copyright, technology development, and end user / library relations. STM Aims and Objectives: 1. to assist publishers and their authors in their activities in disseminating the results of research in the fields of science, technology and medicine; 2. to assist national and international organisations and communications industries in the electronic environment, who are concerned with improving the dissemination, storage and retrieval of scientific, technical and medical information; 3. to carry out the foregoing work of the Association in conjunction with the International Publishers Association (IPA) and with the national publishers associations and such other governmental and professional bodies, international and national, who may be concerned with these tasks.
EU Legislative Interests
Any work/implementation of CDSM, DSA, Data Act, the E-Commerce Directive; Enforcement, Horizon Europe, Open Science, Open Access, fake science; Artificial Intelligence.
Communication Activities
Educational Seminars for MEPs; bilateral meetings; STM Delegation visits; roundtable discussions; possible participation in intergroups and expert groups.
