Mission & Goals
The objectives of the International Association of Professional Numismatists are the development of a healthy and prosperous numismatic trade conducted according to the highest standards of business ethics and commercial practice, the encouragement of scientific research and the propagation of numismatics, and the creation of lasting and friendly relations amongst professional numismatists throughout the world.
EU Legislative Interests
The policies targeted are set by the commission itself in its agenda for the Commission Expert Subgroup on the "Dialogue with the Art Market" (Number E03650). The main issues of concern for the Expert Subgroup has been Import and export of cultural goods (EU Regulation 2019/880 in particular) as well as 5th and 6th anti-money laundering directives. IAPN has also raised issues related to the proposed US-EU trade agreement, particularly as it applies to US Tariffs on cultural goods as well as EU Regulation 2019/880 as well as the US Cultural Property Implementation Act.
Communication Activities
Communication of EU legal issues to IAPN member companies via email and orally at IAPN's Annual Congress. The 2025 Congress took place in Madrid, Spain. This year's Congress in May 2026 will take place in Rome, Italy.
