Mission & Goals
The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) is a worldwide association of accreditation bodies and other bodies interested in conformity assessment in the fields of management systems, products, processes, services, personnel, validation and verification and other similar programmes of conformity assessment. Our primary function is to develop a single worldwide program of conformity assessment which reduces risk for businesses and their customers by assuring them that accredited certificates and validation and verification statements may be relied upon. EA (https://european-accreditation.org/), established in Europe in compliance to EU Reg. 765/2008, is a Regional member of IAF. The most or European accreditation bodies, established by each EU/EFTA members states, are members of IAF. In this moment I'm the chair of IAF, and also Vice General Director of the Italian national accreditation Body (ACCREDIA https://www.accredia.it/)
EU Legislative Interests
All Directives and Regulations that have a reference to accreditation (reg. 765 of 2008) For example: GDPR, Green Claims, Greenwashing, CSRD, CBAM, Due Diligence, EUDR, CPR, cybersecurity, AI.
Communication Activities

Organisation Members
IAF members are (updated in November 2024): 95 Accreditation bodies, 30 Association Members, 6 Regional Accreditation Groups (including EA https://european-accreditation.org/)
Additional Information
IAF is an association that operates with the voluntary contribution of its members. For example, as Chair of the IAF, I don't get paid from the IAF, but from the Italian accreditation body (Accredia). Any expenses are therefore covered, in my case, by Accredia and not by the IAF IAF Inc.’s main revenue source derives from annual membership fees. In 2023 IAF had 130 members who in the aggregate contributed 572,000 euros. No single member contributes more than 10% of the annual budget. Current members are 131; 125 if Regional Accreditation Groups are not considered. EA is one of the Regional Accreditation Group members of IAF the fees are used to pay the Secretary and to organize the annual meetings, jointly with ILAC.
