Mission & Goals
Non-profit European organisation dedicated to interoperability in Health Information Technology. IHE-Europe gathers a range of European-based stakeholders based on selection criteria to advance the share or exchange of patient information. IHE-Europe engages clinicians, health authorities, industry and users (healthcare providers) to improve Healthcare interoperability by helping stakeholders to adopt, promote and implement IHE profiles. IHE develops tools and services for testing interoperability between IT systems.

The testing strategy that was developed was aligned to the epsom strategy. - HITCH:Health care Interoperability Testing and Conformance harmonisation project -Antilope: supported the dissemination and adoption of the eEIF and built a refined eEIF with use cases and a selection of a set of 27 profiles. Quality management on interoperability testing, test methods were considered as well as a framework for supporting the development of a Conformity Assessment Scheme regarding HITCH recommendations.

Additional Information
IHE-Europe entered into a new contract for organising the IHE-Europe Connectathon and its related testing activities for which IHE-Europe is receiving a fixed amount. Also, several projects have been concluded without continuation. IHE-Europe is currently involved in the xShare project. It has received payment in 2025. No remaining contributors go over the limit of 10% of the budget.
