Mission & Goals
Instructure is one of the worlds largest educational technology providers. Main goals are to empower lifelong learning, for EU institutions and EU participating nations. Specifically for K12 education, higher education, workforce and skills focused programmes.
EU Legislative Interests
Instructure, as a leading educational technology company, should strategically target several key EU legislative proposals and policies to leverage funding opportunities in Europe. The overarching theme for these opportunities revolves around digital transformation in education, skills development, and innovation. Main areas of focus: 1. Digital Education Action Plan (DEAP 2021-2027) Focus: This is the cornerstone of the EU's digital education strategy. It aims to support the sustainable and effective digital transformation of education and training systems across Europe. Key Areas for Instructure: Enhancing Digital Skills and Competences: Instructure's learning management systems (LMS) and assessment tools directly contribute to this. The plan emphasizes equipping individuals with basic digital literacy, advanced digital skills (including AI and cybersecurity), and teacher training. Building a High-Performing Digital Education Ecosystem: This includes strengthening digital infrastructure, ensuring access to secure and user-friendly digital tools and platforms, and promoting open educational resources (OER). Instructure's platforms are central to this. Assessment of Digital Skills and Competences: There are specific calls under Erasmus+ (linked to DEAP) for projects focusing on developing methodologies and tools for assessing digital skills, referenced to the DigComp framework. This is a direct fit for Instructure's assessment capabilities. AI in Education and Training: Innovative Data Collection and Exchange: The plan encourages ethical and privacy-centered methods for data collection and exchange to support data-driven decision-making in education. Instructure's data analytics capabilities within its platforms are relevant here. 2. Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) Key Areas for Instructure:Advanced Digital Skills: DIGITAL explicitly funds projects that enhance advanced digital skills, including cybersecurity, data, and AI. Instructure can partner with educational institutions or consortia to develop and deliver training programs on these skills using its platforms. AI Skills Academies: Calls are often open for establishing AI Skills Academies, which aim to be one-stop-shops for educational and training schemes in AI. Instructure could be a technology partner in such initiatives. Virtual Worlds Skills Academy: There are also calls to establish Virtual Worlds Skills Academies, focusing on extended reality, 3D graphics, and interactive media. Instructure's potential expansion into immersive learning could align with this. European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs): Instructure can collaborate with EDIHs to promote the wider adoption of digital technologies in education. 3. Erasmus+ Programme Key Areas for Instructure:Forward-Looking Projects: These are large-scale transnational initiatives focused on developing and testing innovative approaches to education and training, often with a strong digital component. Topics like "Assessment of Digital Skills and Competences" and "Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education and Training" are directly relevant. Alliances for Education and Enterprises: Erasmus+ supports projects fostering collaboration between educational institutions and businesses to enhance educational outcomes. Instructure can participate in consortia alongside universities and vocational training providers. Strategic Partnerships for Digital Education: Projects that aim to develop, transfer, and implement innovative practices in digital education. 4. Horizon Europe European Innovation Ecosystems: Initiatives aimed at fostering interconnected and diverse innovation environments. Instructure can engage in partnerships that drive innovation in the edtech sector.
Communication Activities
We have had a series of meetings with different National Research Education Networks (SUNET, SIKT, CINECA, JISC, etc.) as well as many universities and training providers across Europe in order to facilitate broader outreach and participation in these types of projects.
