Mission & Goals
IOSH is the global chartered body for health and safety professionals, founded in 1945. We are a registered charity and an international NGO (recognised by the ILO), and accredited organisation of the commonwealth and with UN ECOSOC special consultative status. We have over 50,000 members in over 130 countries worldwide. We have a vision of "A safe and healthy world of work for all", and our strategy, Activate 2028 (https://iosh.com/about/our-strategy) champions and supports the right to a safe and healthy working environment. As a leading organisation in the occupational safety and health profession, a respected partner in business and management, and a respected organisation with global reach, our goal is to drive action from everyone who can influence excellence in global occupational safety and health (OSH) standards. IOSH actively engages with governments, political parties, and international bodies to promote safer, healthier and sustainable workplaces.
