Mission & Goals

The IIF's mission is to support our members in prudently managing risks and to advocate for regulatory, financial, and economic policies that are in the broad interest of our members and that foster global financial stability and sustainable economic growth. The IIF’s main activities are to: Provide high-quality, timely, and impartial analysis and research to our members on emerging markets and other central issues in global finance. Shape the global policy and regulatory agenda by providing industry input and feedback for example by: (1) Discussing or sending written submissions to international institutions such as the G20, Financial Stability Board or Basel Committee on Banking Supervision; or (2) Publishing reports and analysis on regulatory issues of global significance. Promote the development of sound financial systems, with an emphasis on emerging markets. Provide a forum for members to exchange views and offer opportunities for effective dialogue among policy makers.

Communication Activities

IIF regularly publishes written papers or research notes related to regulatory and policy issues across the world. Many written products focus partially or entirely on important EU initiatives. IIF hosts numerous events throughout the year including membership meetings, roundtables and symposia, many of them in Europe, and some focused on EU issues.
