Mission & Goals
The core activity of the Institute of Baltic Studies is policy research and analysis, local and international projects to develop a knowledge-based society. We provide high-quality socio-economic analysis intending to advance public policy-making in Estonia, the Baltic Sea Region, and Europe.

Over the years, we have implemented many development projects in cooperation with the government, academia, businesses, and third sector organizations across Europe, including over twenty projects under the EU’s 5th, 6th, and 7th Framework Programmes and H2020. The IBS network of partners brings together hundreds of experts, organizations, and universities worldwide.
