Mission & Goals
The Institute for AI Policy & Strategy (IAPS) is a think tank working to understand and navigate the transformative potential of advanced AI. We do so by conducting policy research and cultivating policy talent. Our research work is divided into three workstreams: policy & standards (covering the EU, the UK, and the US), compute governance, and international governance (covering multilateral governance). Our policy talent work is centered around our global fellowship program, which hosts over a dozen talented young to mid-career professionals who want to transition into AI policy.
EU Legislative Interests
IAPS has policy research work devoted to initiatives related to the governance of advanced AI models. Illustrative examples of such EU policies include the Artificial Intelligence Act, the AI Liability Directive, and the Digital Markets Act.
