Mission & Goals

The mission of the Jean Monnet Institute is to keep alive and transmit the historical heritage of Jean Monnet and to contribute to a new European impetus : - By transmitting Jean Monnet's European vision, action and method to young people and decision-makers - By contributing to the development of solutions for the future of Europe in the world, based on the contribution of Jean Monnet and other European founding fathers

EU Legislative Interests

The purpose of meeting members and staff of the European institutions is to introduce the Institut Jean Monnet and discuss how the IJM can support European institutions in areas related to the transmission of the memory of the founding fathers and more specifically that of Jean Monnet

Communication Activities

The IJM is involved in a variety of activities that are recorded under three main headlines : - Memory and transmission (eg. republishing of Jean Monnet Memoirs, production of a documentary and a comic strip that help understand the action, vision and method of Jean Monnet) - Youth (eg. school exhibitions, organisation of hackathons and events aimed at creating a sense of European identity amongst new generations) - Think tank (eg. historical conferences, round tables, articles focused on the relevance of the legacy of the founding fathers in addressing today's challenges)

Additional Information

Actual expenditure was 89 845€, made possible by a positive balance at the end of 2023. Books were sold to the European commission to the tune of 12 000€, which also contributed to the budget.
