Mission & Goals
Impact Innovations Institute’s Initiatives Foundation (IMIN) is a women-led non-profit organization aiming to tackle global social problems through innovative technologies. As its first major undertaking, the team has embarked on developing Safe YOU, a mobile app and a multistakeholder web platform to prevent and combat gender-based violence (GBV). As a solution aiming to attain Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG #5 Gender Equality, Safe YOU has been recognized as a Digital Public Good as set by the UN Secretary-General in the 2020 Roadmap for Digital Cooperation. In 2023, Safe YOU won the UNWTO Awake Tourism Challenge and was selected as the European Champions at the WSA European Young Innovators Awards, as well as being featured in UNDP’s Digital X Catalog and winning the UNFPA Innovation Challenge. Additionally, Safe YOU solution was supported by the L’Oreal Fund for Women, the Armenian International Women’s Association (AIWA) and the Cartier Women’s Initiative.
EU Legislative Interests
Our organization is planning to participate in a meeting at the European Parliament in September 2025 to present its technology-driven approach to preventing gender-based violence via Safe YOU solution and to explore opportunities for future collaboration within EU member states. No specific legislative proposals are targeted at this stage. In the meantime, Safe YOU’s work aligns with and supports the implementation of the following EU legislative and policy instruments: Directive on combating violence against women and domestic violence (COM/2022/105 final) – Safe YOU offers digital tools that directly support prevention, access to support services, reporting, and anonymized data collection, contributing to the Directive’s implementation across member states. EU Gender Equality Strategy 2020–2025 – Safe YOU contributes to objectives related to eliminating gender-based violence, promoting gender equality in digital transformation, and ensuring access to justice for survivors.
Communication Activities
We have conducted launch events and awareness campaigns in Romania and Poland to introduce Safe YOU’s digital solution for preventing gender-based violence. We are also preparing a meeting at the European Parliament to further present the initiative and explore EU-wide collaboration.
