Mission & Goals

With more than 170 years of history, Iberdrola is one of the world’s largest electricity utilities and one of the world’s leading renewable producers. The Group operates more than 46 GW of renewable installed capacity, representing almost an 80% of its total installed capacity. Iberdrola produces and supplies electricity to around 100 million people worldwide and is a key player in the electrification of the economy. In 2025, 85% of its electricity production was emission free, rising to over 90% in Europe, reflecting a generation mix strongly aligned with climate neutrality objectives. As part of its long standing commitment to decarbonisation, Iberdrola has reduced its CO₂ emissions intensity in Europe by around 75% since 2000, positioning the company well below the European power sector average and reinforcing its role as an early mover in the energy transition.
