Mission & Goals
IDEA Innovation Center is an Incubator – Accelerator for startups and comprehensive innovation centre in Cyprus. It is a non-profit organisation, supported primarily by the Bank of Cyprus and other valued partners, as part of their social responsibility initiatives – giving back to the society. IDEA’s mission is to promote innovative entrepreneurship culture in Cyprus, ease entrepreneurs’ access to the business world and enhance the diversity and durability of the Cypriot economy by bringing innovative products and services to life. To achieve its goals, IDEA undertakes a cluster of activities that are inextricably linked with its strategic pillars.
EU Legislative Interests
IDEA Innovation Center is particularly interested in EU initiatives that facilitate startup access to equity and risk finance. Of particular relevance are the European Long-Term Investment Funds (ELTIFs), the InvestEU Programme—especially its SME window—and the EU Listing Acts, which aim to simplify SME listings. These instruments are seen as valuable enablers for early-stage ventures seeking sustainable growth and market entry. Also, we see relevance in the Crowdfunding Regulation to improve cross-boarder access to private investment.
Communication Activities
Invited to meet with Maria Luis Albuquerque, Commissioner of the European Commission responsible for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, during her visit to Cyprus next week. According to the European Commission’s Representation in Cyprus, there is no specific agenda; the meeting is intended as an open forum for stakeholders to raise issues.
