Mission & Goals
Hungarian Interchurch Aid (HIA), founded in 1991, is one of the largest, internationally recognized charity organizations in Hungary. With its unique and extensive experience, effectively implements humanitarian and development programs globally as part of the international community. Besides operating social institutions across Hungary (over 100 social services and institutions, including multisectoral support and support for refugees) in its international activities focusing on the provision of humanitarian assistance in natural or man-made disasters, implementing international development cooperation, resilience buidling activities, and increasing domestic social support for humanitarian aid efforts, shaping the mindset of younger generations.

HIA is member of "ACT Alliance" since its estalblishment, 1995. https://actalliance.org/full-list-of-members/ ACT Alliance is a global faith-based coalition organized in national and regional forums operating in more than 120 countries. With more than 140 members, ACT Alliance focuses on humanitarian aid, gender and climate justice, migration and displacement, and peace and security to support local communities. ACT Alliance's goal is to promote a locally-led and coordinated approach to advocacy, humanitarian and developmental issues. Basic Facts about ACT Alliance: Composed of more than 140 faith-based member organizations working in long-term development, advocacy, and humanitarian assistance. Members operate in more than 120 countries. Members employ more than 30,000 staff and volunteers. Members mobilize approximately $2 billion each year. Supported by an international Secretariat of approximately 35 staff based in Geneva, Bangkok, New York, Toronto, Amman, Bogotá, Nairobi, and Brussels. ACT Alliance was established on 1 January 2010 by bringing together the vision, resources, and people of organizations that have been collaborating since 1995 as ACT International and since 2003 as ACT Development. 2. HIA is member of EURODIACONIA https://www.eurodiaconia.org/who-we-are/member-organisations/ EURODIACONIA members are churches, non-statutory welfare organisations and NGOs in Europe rooted in the Christian faith within the Reformation, the Anglican and the Orthodox traditions.
