Mission & Goals

HTI is the leading hub for doing health travel and tourism business in Europe that brings together medical, spa and wellness professionals, service providers, associations and destinations at events and projects supported by prominent European and global organisations. HTI`s goals are development of helath toruism market, improve communication between providers, leaders and policymakers and promotion of european health torusim industry. HTI Partne was organiser of several European Health Industry Summits in European Parliament so far.

EU Legislative Interests

European Strategy for Sustainable Tourism EU4Health Programme and policies supporting cross-border healthcare and health system resilience Directive 2011/24/EU on the application of patients’ rights in cross-border healthcare Activities are conducted through industry dialogue platforms, conferences, expert discussions and stakeholder engagement initiatives related to health tourism and the wellbeing economy.

Communication Activities

Communication activities include participation in and organisation of conferences and expert discussions involving representatives of EU institutions, industry stakeholders and public authorities. These activities consist of: organisation of high-level conferences and roundtable discussions hosted in cooperation with European institutions, including the European Parliament; exchanges of views with Members of the European Parliament, European Commission representatives and EU stakeholders during public events and sectoral meetings; presentation of industry perspectives and best practices related to health tourism, wellbeing economy and sustainable tourism development. All interactions are conducted in a transparent, non-legislative dialogue format aimed at knowledge exchange and sector development.

Member Of

HTI cooperates with and participates in a broad network of European and international stakeholders active in tourism, health tourism, wellbeing economy and related sectors. These include industry associations, chambers of commerce, destination organisations, professional networks and institutional partners engaged in policy dialogue, sector development and knowledge exchange. Key cooperation partners and networks include, among others: European Travel Commision (ETC) European Spas Association (ESPA) European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA) European Union of Private Hospitals (EUHP) Tourism Manifesto ITB Berlin other health tourism and medical associations, national chambers of commerce and business associations, tourism boards, destination management organisations across Europe, health tourism providers, medical and wellness institutions and industry clusters, international conference and knowledge platforms related to tourism, health and wellbeing economy.
