Mission & Goals
Holmen’s business is built around the forest ecocycle and the renewable products we can create from it. Our business areas are Forest, Wood Products, Board and Paper and Renewable Energy. With a workforce of 3 500 people, we create value for shareholders, customers and society. Holmen’s extensive forest holdings are the foundation of our business. Using our own production facilities, the growing trees are refined into everything from wood for climate-smart building to renewable packaging, magazines and books, while at the same time we generate hydro and wind power on our own land. A business that not only creates value for customers and shareholders, but also contributes to a better climate and thriving rural communities.
EU Legislative Interests
Holmen följer frågor som rör skog, industri, miljö, bioenergi, bioekonomi och klimat. Där ingår exempelvis alla de lagförslag som kommer inom EU:s skogsstrategi, Strategin för biologisk mångfald, EU:s handlingsplan för den cirkulära ekonomin. Exempel på processer och lagförslag av intresse för Holmen: Klimatmål och den gröna given, LULUCF, Bioekonomistrategi, EU ETS, CRCF, CSRD, CSDDD, EUDR, Naturrestaureringsförordningen, Taxonomin, Green Claims, Forest monitoring.
Communication Activities
Deltagande vid egna möten samt genom branschorganisationer med EU KOM:s tjänstepersoner samt ledamöter och tjänstepersoner i EP. Holmen kan också ta initiativ till egna möten med tjänstepersoner inom EU:s institutioner.
