Mission & Goals
AUAS is the largest Higher Education Institution in the Netherlands and based in the city of Amsterdam, a metropole and a smart global business hub. It belongs to the top 5 of competitive regions in Europe (EU Regional Competitiveness Index 2.0). We educate the professionals of tomorrow. Our students and staff work closely with citizens, industries, companies and public organisations to develop smart solutions to urban challenges. As one of the partners of the Digital Pact for Skills, life long learning and skill development are high on our agenda. The AUAS consists of six faculties. We have currently 44,000 students and offer a total of 89 degree programmes (Bachelor, Master, Associate programmes). Practical orientated research is an important component of the educational programmes. We have 80 Professors of Applied Research. Our research always addresses a real-life world problem from the professional field in the quadruple helix, contributing to solving metropolitan problems.
