Mission & Goals
University of Applied Sciences Ghent (HOGENT) consists of 7 departments: the School of Business and Management, the School of Bioscience and Industrial Technology, the School of Healthcare, the School of IT and Digital Innovation, the School of Teacher Training, the School of Built Environment and the School of Social Welfare. HOGENT has over 17,000 students and 2,150 staff members, including 275 researchers who are active in over a hundred national and international research projects. Since the 2020-2021 academic year, HOGENT's applied scientific research has been brought together in eleven interdisciplinary research centres and a Centre for Applied Data Science. HOGENT strives to excel in education, research, service provision and artistic practice. Through the expertise of its staff and the valorisation of its research, HOGENT aims to make a valuable contribution to a critical, creative and open society.
