Mission & Goals
The HIV Prevention Alliance was established in 2025 as a diverse coalition of stakeholders to advance an inclusive HIV combination prevention agenda for the EU and its close neighbourhood, in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) commitments. It brings together 27 organisations representing communities most affected by HIV, including LGBTQI+, women, migrants, youth, people who use drugs, and sex workers, alongside leading clinical and public health experts, researchers and industry. Our advocacy is anchored in SDG 3.3, which calls for ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic by 2030 through comprehensive prevention and people‑centred health systems. We also place strong emphasis on SDG 5, recognising that gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls are essential to an effective HIV response - particularly Target 5.6 on universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and Target 5.c on adopting and enforcing policies that advance gender equality.
