Mission & Goals
HEXANA operates in the nuclear energy sector and is developing an ultra-low-carbon energy platform combining a pair of advanced modular reactors with a high-temperature thermal energy storage system. The reactors are based on proven sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR) technology, with six reactors previously operated in Europe. They are designed to produce both high-temperature heat and ultra-low-carbon electricity. Through this cogeneration approach, HEXANA aims to support the decarbonization of hard-to-abate industrial sectors (e.g chemicals, petrochemicals, steel, etc) as well as the production of e-fuels for the maritime and aviation sectors. The integrated thermal storage system provides operational flexibility, enabling energy to be stored and dispatched on demand, supporting future energy systems and emerging applications such as data centers.
