Mission & Goals
HAIPP is an initiative of the largest private electricity companies in Greece. HAIPP's member companies have already invested around EUR 2,5 billion in eight modern natural gas power plants. The very existence of these flexible and dispatchable units guarantees the security of power supply in Greece. At the same time, HAIPP’s member companies are among the largest investors in renewable energy and, in the future, storage projects in Greece. Thus, ensuring a smooth and successful transition to an energy mix that is more flexible and with lower greenhouse gas emissions. Keeping always in mind the ultimate goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050, HAIPP’s members decided to establish an association to manage generation issues, promote matters related to the supply of reliable, affordable and environmentally friendly electricity, and promote the liberalisation of the Greek energy market for all energy resources.
